In 1997 the Pittsburgh Pirates introduced red into their uniforms for the first time in over 50 years! It was an interesting choice as Pittsburgh was the only city in which all 3 major sports franchises wore the same colors, black and gold. The Pirates however, only wore this cap as an alternate. It lasted until 2008 and unfortunately hasn't returned yet. We love the look, and are reminded of the good old days of Jason Kendall with this one. We hope you enjoy it as well!

The 90’s and early 2000’s were an interesting time in baseball uniform experimentation. Regardless of how long each set of uniforms and caps lasted, we all have that nostalgiac love for looks that remind us of the simpler times. The reason we make these throwback caps is to touch back on the golden days of our youth.
